Dancing is one of my favorite ways to connect with the weird, silly little part of me. She loves how it feels to move to music, letting her body do whatever she wants, feeling uninhibited by anyone or anything.

Dance is one of the most effective ways to move energy through the body. Allowing your body to move YOU takes it to the next level. The body craves to move in all kinds of ways, the more we tune into the ways it wants to move, the better it feels.

I remember a time when it wasn’t safe to be fully transparent about who I loved. It felt awful. To feel a love so deeply and not be able to share that with anyone, let alone be able to express the pain I felt from that love was pure agony. At one point, it was so bad I wanted to end it all for good.

Fortunately, that younger part of me no longer has to feel that fear. I realize that there’s privilege in that which is one reason why I have a personal commitment to supporting the queer community leveraging my platform, my gifts, and my voice to do whatever I can to support others in feeling safe to love whomever they want to love and free to be whomever they want to be.

✨ I believe the queer community has a huge role in the formation of the new earth we’ve decided to co-create together. The old paradigm of separation, judgement, othering, and division no longer serves us. The new paradigm of unity, self-acceptance, love, and communal support is here now and I welcome anyone who feels called to experience this for themselves to join me.

🎁 We transmute the pain of not feeling accepted with self-love and self-worth, two of the greatest gifts you could ever give yourself.

Who else lights up when they see a care bear or unicorn? 🦄 I was obsessed with Unicorns as a kid. Any time there was a face painter anywhere I’d always get a unicorn painted on my face ☺️

I came across @lisafrank on Instagram last week and was delighted to see they are bringing back some of my favorite rainbow kid nostalgia.

Not only that but they also fully lit up “adult” me to see them mention “the key to a happy life as an adult woman is to channel your inner weird little girl and make her happy.” which I wholeheartedly agree with!

Here’s one thing to understand about your inner “child” 👇🏼

They don’t have to be a child…

In fact, they could be in their 20s, 30s, or even from a week ago!

The inner child you see above was 16. She went to an all girls catholic high school where you’d literally be expelled if you had a relationship with another woman...

Which was ironic seeing that the Principal who would have expelled her lived with a woman… the Dean of Students… also gay, and her softball coach… need I say more? 😆

At that time in my life this was the hardest thing I ever went through, feeling like I couldn’t be open and honest with who I was and how I felt. So much so I spent a week in the hospital because the pain was so unbearable I had decided I wanted to end it all. I bottled it all in and that felt like shit in comparison to how much I loved this person.

I remember getting to college finally feeling comfortable to tell my friends about the relationship I had for years with no one knowing. It felt so freeing. And fortunately all of my friends were very accepting, which helped me feel even more relief.

For the first time in my life I felt like I finally was free to be me and that was perfectly acceptable in my own unique way. It was the first time I felt acceptance for myself but it took me decades later to finally feel FULL self-acceptance once I discovered and acknowledged my inner child through Soul Integration.

💞 4 years later and I’m still connecting with ALL my inner ”children” & the discovery has been so fulfilling!

Now, not a day goes by that I don’t connect with younger parts of myself letting them know I’m here for them, asking them what they’d like to do, and honoring who they are. And each day I rediscover more magic within myself. 💖

For all those out there reading this who’ve ever felt like they couldn’t be open about who they are: I see you. I honor you & I love you. I know how hard it can feel. And I also know that you deserve the freedom to feel, be, and express yourself however you’d like, even if you’re not sure or it’s always fluid, that’s perfectly fine too. 🫶🏽

These are the most powerful words I say to my inner child. ⬇️

“I see you. I hear you. I love you. I am always here for you.”

This allows her to feel free to be the fun-loving, creative, silly, light-hearted little girl that she loves to be.

I may not have had parents that knew how to regulate their emotions well, or who knew how to co-regulate with me, but that doesn’t mean I can’t give myself that gift today.

Thanks to @theembodylab the modalities I utilize with myself and my clients got a huge upgrade as I completed their Somatic Trauma Integration certification last year. I also learned a ton from @traumahealingaccelerated’s 21 day Somatic Integration and watching countless hours of 👑 @drpeteralevine as he so expertly facilitates Somatic Trauma Healing sessions with his clients.

What I love the most about all the Somatic modalities I learned, every one of them recognize the importance of acknowledging the inner child in order to heal our emotional triggers, which get stored in our body from when the wound occurred.

The more I practice soothing myself and my nervous system the more I prove to my inner child that “I’ve got this” and the less she feels she needs to “take over” situations to protect me.

The result? I’m more emotionally balanced, joyful, and ease-full than I’ve ever been in my entire life. I can honestly say it feels like magic.✨

I am so grateful for all the ways I’ve invested in myself over the last 5 years. The dividends pay infinitely as I am healing both past and future timelines in the present moment.

💥 Time and time again I hear similar feedback from my clients. “I’ve felt more relief after just a few sessions than I have in years of therapy.”

In this episode #422 of Aubrey Marcus’ podcast with Dr. Richard Schwartz, creator of Internal Family Systems (IFS), they walk through the inner child healing process, or as Dr. Schwartz calls it: parts work.

This process is very similar to the Soul Integrative process I utilize with my clients, with some subtle differences.

You don’t need to know what memories you’d like to heal before coming to the session either. We will explore what’s activated for you, whether it’s an emotional challenge or limiting belief you’re working with, or you’re feeling stuck or not able to move forward in the ways you’d like, by getting out of mind and feeling into the body.

💭 From there the memories naturally arise, our inner parts will always make themselves known.

📝 This is an opportunity to rewrite the story, by showing love to yourself at a time where you didn’t feel loved, seen, heard, or supported, you have the ability to gift this to yourself. It’s truly magical to witness this process unfold.

Some people have the misconception that you have to go back to your youth and replay the challenging experiences that these wounds come from, but it’s quite opposite from that.

When we take the opportunity to connect with our younger self we can remove them from the situations that were difficult so we never have to relive them again.

When we heal ourselves in this way it literally rewrites our DNA. And because time is not linear we heal both the past and the future at the same time.

💪🏽 That’s why Soul Integration is so effective.

Clients often tell me they got more out of 3 sessions with me than YEARS of therapy.

There’s no reason for us to continue to perpetuate cycles of pain, other than to learn from the suffering. What most people don’t know is we can transmute that pain so we never have to live it again.

And we transmute it by showing ourselves love. It’s the most beautiful process to witness and I’m honored that I have the opportunity to facilitate my clients through it.

I realized this week I left out one key component

I realized this week I left out one key component with the retreat I’m hosting in Bali this October… 😱

But first a little backstory…

When I was 3 my parents got divorced. This meant I spent my entire childhood going back and forth between my mom, dad, and grandma & grandpas house.

When I was in 3rd grade my mom decided I needed to switch schools to live closer to my dad and grandparents. This was one of the most challenging times in my life.

I was 8 years old and wanted so badly to be accepted and liked by the new kids, but little did I realize I was the new kid on the block and making new friends would take time. Instead, I felt incredibly sad and left out.

At the time my mom was not able to be emotionally supportive as she was in the midst of burying her own difficult emotions in drugs and alcohol. I tried so hard to get the new kids to like me, just as I did every night when my mom came home, not knowing if she’d be the nice drunk or the mean drunk.

I connected with my 8yo inner child this week in the recognition of this recurring pattern of feeling left out and I talked with her. I let her know I was sorry for how hard things felt and I let her know it does get better. She told me how much she hates that she feels like she had no choice or say in what she wanted to do. I told her she would always have a voice and a choice with me.

I also told her for the last 14 years we’ve built a life of freedom and we travel and live wherever we want now. That lit her up with so much excitement about the opportunity.

I told her how we will be living half of our year in Bali going forward because we absolutely love it there and that we’re inviting 15 incredible womxn to join us on a transformational journey of a lifetime to Rediscover their Magic so we could share our love of the incredible healing and spiritual energy of Mama Bali. She asked if she could come too.

That’s when it hit me. I left out one key part to the retreat that I’d been planning… my inner child. 😣
